ICOM ID-E880

General

The Remoterig system also support ICOM:s D-star radio ID-E880. The technical solution is the

same as for IC-706, IC-7100, TS-480 etc. You can remote control the radio over Internet

from the control panel without any PC. We simply replace the cable between the control

panel and the radio with two RRC-1258 units, one at the control panel and one at the radio.

When you push the PWR-ON button an audio and data connection is established between the

units and you control the radio as you do normally with the control panel directly attached to

the radio.

Hardware configuration

If you have a RRC with harware v7 or later the setup is simple, for hardwares before v7 the

prepararions is a little bit more complicated for the IC-E880 as some modifications must be

done at the Remoterig circuit boards, Check Mods on the website under support. In both

cases the HM-133 adapters must be mounted and a wire must be connected, more info below.
